Appearance

Briar stands among the tallest highlanders, her skin is light compared to others however. A vivid scar lay across her right eye and a tattoo is present on her left cheek, clearly one of ala mhigan tradition, this is contrasted by a pair of vivid lavender eyes. She is rarely seen out of her plate mail but were she to be seen her most defining feature is how well built she is her muscles are quite large, defined and very hard, few even roe women could contend with her physique and most men of other races would likely find themselves rather jealous of just how big she is, it's not for show either Briar is among some of the strongest people in Eorzea . She still keeps a rather feminine figure however, she's got a nice round and appealing backside accentuated by her wide hips, her huge powerful thighs only draw the eyes here moreso, and she's rather blessed as far as her bosom goes much to her husbands delight. She has many scars present across her the most notable being a row of teeth marks across her abdomen from a battle she may be willing to share about should she be asked. Her hair is black as night and it varies in length, sometimes she adds red dye into it as highlights normally when she cuts it shorter.

Personality

Briar is quite the friendly sort even if she doesn't seem it at times, she oft falls quiet during conversation especially with someone new to her. Over time she will open up more and be willing to divulge more aspects of herself and her personal life, she's extremely protective of her loved ones and family, don't be surprised to receive a firm "No." when first asked about her personal life, push the issue and she is likely to leave. Though normally calm and collected she has an intense temper, few are able to quell her anger once ignited... only her husband has proven capable of such a feat, besides him even her immediate kin find her hard to deal with in this state the best option is to give her room and let her fight it out alone before approaching her again, she will cool down soon enough. This is rare enough however and it'd take a lot to anger her to this point, she might seem intimidating at times but she's rather kind once you take the time to get past her rough exterior.

Profession

She started out like many newcomers to Eorzea and joined the Adventurers Guild in hopes of being of help to others. This didn't last long, however, soon it wasn't enough and she joined the Twin Adder of Gridania. She served here for some time until life took her to Limsa Lominsa where she transferred to the Maelstrom, she served faithfully and worked her way up to Storm Captain. Though again life pulled her away to the deserts of Thanalan where she again transferred to the Flames this time, due to several good words being put in for her she came in as Second Lt. she served a short time until inevitably she became unhappy, her love of travel and adventure called to her so thus she resigned from military ... or so she'd thought it was years later when she bore children and could no longer sustain the kind of work she was doing that she rejoined the Maelstrom. This didn't last long however and she soon remembered just why she'd left the military lifestyle in the firstplace, while she enjoyed captaining her own ship and travelling she still wasn't free, not like she wanted to be and so she became increasingly melancholy about everything until finally she was convinced to resign by her husband and a good friend.Along the way here she'd taken up arms as a Dark Knight, she longed to protect others only in her own way on her own terms. So now she keeps a sort of self-made oath to protect those who are too weak to protect themselves. To impart her knowledge into less experienced adventurers, ideally, she'd like to find a sort of apprentice to mentor as she travels.She now works as a sort of Mercenary specializing in Bounty Hunting and Monster Slaying as well as keeping her oath to protect the weak if she finds an oppourtunity.She also works at the smithing guild in Limsa Lominsa as another way to earn gil and keep her skills sharp.

Backround

Born in Doma to Father Tokisada Amano, a skilled samurai, and staunch man of doman tradition and Mother Arnora Stormcaller a rather large highlander monk. They met on the field of battle but departed lovers having found their match. Briar Amano was the middle child, she was never ladylike ... quite the opposite in fact. A tomboy in every way possible, she was time and again pushed to be more like her younger sister Tenme, the envy of every doman man small, pretty and delicate. Time and again she refused and only seemed to act more boyish and rough almost out of spite it seemed. Her father and her have never gotten along they butt heads constantly. This eventually ended up in her father forcing her into training as a Samurai as her brother did "you want to act like a man? then fight like one!" these were his words, she was her mothers daughter in every way tough and stubborn as steel.Time passed and she did train , even caught up to her brother in a relatively short time. It seemed all was going well ... that was until she was informed of her husband to be, an arranged marriage that was a common custom in her small village. This was the straw that broke the camels back, Tokisada and Briar got into the most heated fight yet. He demanded respect for tradition and she demanded respect for her wishes, neither would bend. Not even Arnora's words could sway them... so Briar ran, left everything she knew behind only Ikeda knew she was gone that night. She took only her katana and a change of clothes before stowing away in a cargo ship headed for Eorzea.Arriving in Limsa Lominsa she took upon the last name of Moore and caught the first ferry to the mainland, then booked a porter all the way to Gyr Abania , her mothers' homeland. It was not however how she'd imagined it, Ala Mhigo was under Garlean rule and the people were living in their shadow, broken and angry. She stayed in a resistance camp for a while until it was raided by a garlean partrol forcing her to flee into the forests of the shroud eventually finding her way to Gridania. It was here she vowed to lay down arms and learn all she could to help others not hurt like she'd been hurt. She found herself at the conjurers guild learning from a wise man with the appearance of a young boy one of the padgal... the rest is history. Perhaps she'll tell you should you ask

Skills

Briar is a multifaceted woman, her skills range from magic to healing and of course the art of war, there's rarely a weapon she doesn't know how to use .Conjury - She studied this for a little while and knows most basic healing spells and protective incantationsThaumaturgy/Black Magic - Obviously these are differing schools but she studied both, she became quite adept at Thaumaturgy and eventually explored more desiring more power. This led to black magic, she's practiced and studied a lot but has taken a pact never to practice it again.Warrior - While in the Maelstrom she picked this up, it was a turning point for her and when she found her passion for battle. Not since she'd left home had she held a melee weapon and it was exhilarating. She trained hard and long, became strong, then stronger. Soon it was no longer something on the side, it became her main focus to grow as strong as she could, to have the power to protect her loved onesPugilist/Monk - She was trained by her mother in the art of hand to hand combat. From when she was a young girl up to being a teenager, it's not something she relies on but should she find herself unarmed it's something she can fall back on and has a couple of timesSamurai - Forced to train as she was this is something she has no desire to touch. Though were you to hand her a katana she'd know exactly how to hold it, swing it, unleash its energy. It's not something she's proud of and not likely to be something she does ever again if she can at all help it.Dark Knight - Here we come to the Apex of Briar's training, she saught a discipline to combine her knowledge of magic and war and this fit the bill. On a job in Ishgard, she found a mysterious woman wielding a greatsword and casting spells. She learned to tap into her darker self and channel these energies as well as learned new ways to become stronger physically and mentally. This has been her main Discipline for many years and she shows no signs of stoppingFollowing this she is quite adept at using a one handed blade as the gladiators and paladins do and she does carry one from time to time. She's also no stranger to the lance , she finds herself fairly comfortable with just about any melee weapon.She's also an expert blacksmith and has some knowledge of weaving and leatherworking. She's learned to craft and maintain her own gear over the years and now sells her skills to those that need it to make some extra gil

Relationships

Briar isn't the most extroverted person and only holds a few friends close, the most important of which is her husband Tristram, Together they've overcome many a trial. Her best friend is a lively lavender haired Miqo'te named Petra, she's a bit too much for our quiet highlander at times but she loves her with all her heart and would kill anyone who so much as layed a hand on her, she's been there through thick and thin. She's also met varying adventurers and companions along the way not many stuck around but one did, a blond hyur woman she can't seem to stop running into ... not that she minds. Then finally there's the other special Miqo'te in her life named Freya who's become like a sort of a younger sister to her in a way, sometimes Briar behaves much like a matriarch around her she's fiercely protective of this woman and won't tolerate any sort of threat towards her.Other than this there's her father Takisada Amano and mother Arnora Amano. She has an older brother named Ikeda and a younger sister named Tenme

Quirks and Other Facts

Briar has an absolutely monstrous appetite, people are often in awe at how much food she can shovel down, chefs and servers watch in horror as she devours what was supposed to be enough food for the whole table and still go back for more. On her eating habits she can't stand sweets and tends to keep junk food to a minimum , her one weakness is fish and chips in that regard.She's also an incredibly heavy drinker , a borderline alcoholic in fact she's been known to out drink just about anyone.She's always training to become stronger and stronger , her incredible strength is present in her grip which can be painfully hard depending on who's hand she's shaking or gripping. Her clothes tend to fit tightly around her due to her sheer size of physique and her armor heaves as she moves against her powerful body.She tends to look younger than she is, despite being a woman in her mid thirties many have mistaken her for being in her early twenties at first glance

I've been Role-playing for a few years now, I started back on ESO with a small group of friends. Then I moved to GW2 and finally came here to FF XIV. I've played off and on since the launch of ARR, back then I was not a role-player. Nowadays it's my main focusRole-playing
My focus when engaging in RP is largely to build relationships, find friends who share the same preferences. I'm open to most things long as it's in line with how Briar would participate in it. I tend to be rather introverted and find it hard to approach others, if I've done so you can be rest assured I'd been thinking about if t for a long time and mustering the courage to come over.I only have a few requests for an RP partner or friend, if things come to blows or combat in a plot I dislike roll systems, things are rather to random for my preferences. I would much prefer to write things out and have creative freedom on both ends seeing how our characters act and react, their strengths and weaknesses from their writer's own perspective. This may bring up some concerns but I can assure you I abhor god-modding and meta gaming, I do everything I can to be sure things remain fair.I'm always willing to discuss ideas or plots, I grow weary of tavern rp but alas it is the most consistent way to meet others so I often find myself therePersonal info
